It's the end of an era in aviation.
On Wednesday, the last Boeing 747 took off from Washington and landed at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport
Cargo carrier Atlas Air was the last customer.
The 747 is credited with changing international travel with its large passenger capacity and ability to fly long distances.
But since its introduction in 1969, airlines have moved toward smaller, more fuel-efficient planes.
The plane landed at CVG just before 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Its flight path across the U.S. actually spelled out 747.
