More than 400 years ago now.

It opened as a teahouse at that time and is now known as "Tororojiru no " Chojiya(Tororo soup restaurant), and the current owner is the 14th generation of the Choujiya family!

It was loved by many famous Japanese artists and has been preserved in travelogues, haiku, essays, and ukiyoe woodblock prints.
