China has released new photos of the surface of Mars collected by its Tianwen-1 probe mission launched in July 2020. The images shared on June 29, 2022, include shots of the planet’s southern polar region and an 18km (11 miles) high volcano. The Tianwen-1 spacecraft carried an orbiter to circle Mars, as well as a lander and rover that reached its surface in February 2021
