Meet Spot the robot dog for surveillance and inspection of the remains of Pompeii.

A four-legged yellow and black robot has been called in to inspect the ancient ruins of Pompeii Italy's most famous archaeological sites. The robot, called Spot, designed by US-based Boston Dynamics, is part of a broader project to use technology to help monitor work on the Pompeii site and to make it safer, Equipped with a 360-degree camera, Spot will also protect the ancient city's streets from illegal relic hunters who can cause structural issues to the ruins by digging tunnels.
