North Korean leader Kim Jong-un approved plans to bolster the country’s defence capabilities during a three-day meeting with the top military brass in Pyongyang. State media reported that Kim urged the country to boost its defence capabilities with a stronger “war deterrent” – a phrase that typically means a nuclear weapon. In a photo released by state media, generals appeared to be discussing a map showing the location of a South Korean nuclear power plant.
