Indonesian President Joko Widodo is the latest world leader to visit Ukraine, arriving in the capital Kyiv from Poland by train on June 29, 2022. In talks with Volodymyr Zelensky, Widodo offered to deliver a message from the Ukrainian president to Russian leader Vladimir Putin when he meets him in Moscow on June 30. Widodo said he hopes to push for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine since the war sparked by Moscow’s invasion has caused major disruptions to supply chains as well as a food and energy crisis that sent inflation soaring in many countries, including Indonesia.
