Over the past two weeks Russian military sites in Crimea have been hit by a series of explosions. Ukraine stopped short of taking credit but high-ranking officials termed the blasts “just as the beginning” and "demilitarisation in action". Russia claimed the August 9 explosion was caused by a fire at an ammunition depot at the Saky base. Moscow, however, blamed “sabotage” for August 16 blasts at the ammunition dump in Maiskoye.
