    When Putin launched his all-out invasion of Ukraine in February, the Black Sea fleet was at the centre of the action. The Crimea-based fleet was tasked with launching Kalibr cruise missiles at military and civilian targets deep inside Ukrainian territory. The fleet was also supposed to block access to Ukraine’s ports, and threaten an amphibious landing on Odesa.
