Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has admitted that Russian forces are making progress in the contested Donbas region, describing some of the fighting as “hell”. Both sides appear to be gearing up for an escalation in fighting in the south, with Ukraine looking to take back the strategic city of Kherson.
